The 822 chair, crafted from solid beech and veneer, features an integrated cushion and is designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune for Ton. Inspired by Josef Hoffmann’s 1930 modernist model 811, this chair blends traditional bentwood technology with a contemporary aesthetic. Its design incorporates circular holes in the seat and backrest, creating a visual connection with its surroundings and the user’s attire, offering a timeless appeal. The 822 collection utilizes shaped plywood and manually bent solid wood, exclusively using PEFC-certified beechwood known for its pale color and soft texture. Available in natural finishes with oil or lacquer, as well as various stains and pigments, this chair complements dining tables, café settings, and conference room furniture.
